The Ambazonia Defense Forces (ADF), one of the forces within what is now dubbed the Contender Forces has engaged a convoy transporting Paul Tassong and Dion Ngute, the Prime Minister of Cameroon in a fierce battle as the duo were on a mission in Lebialem. Tassong is Cameroon’s Minister Delegate in Charge of Plannning in the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development.
Preliminary information indicates that five Cameroon soldiers have been killed in the gun battle that is still on going. Gun sounds have sent the local population fleeing.
It is not yet certain whether the Prime Minister, Dion Ngute, and Minister Paul Tassong are both fully safe.
In the past three days, the Cameroon military has engaged ADF fighters multiple times in the Lebialem-Batibo axis. Tassong and some traditional rulers from Lebialem recently finished a meeting in Dschang. It seems that the recent attacks by the Cameroun elite military, the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIRs) on the ADF in recent days was intended to clear the passage route for Dion Ngute and Paul Tassang to safely enter and exit Lebialem after the planning meetings that have been holding in Dschang.
