A massive bomb blast has killed four Cameroun police officers and injured a dozen others in Otu, in the Manyu state of the restive Region of Ambazonia where separatist fighters are battling with French Cameroun Republique forces to create the independent state of Ambazonia.
According to multiple sources from the local media, the explosion occurred when a bomb hit a truck ferrying police and military personnel to the area.
Cameroun Republique military has been involved with massive civilian killings and widespread destruction of property including over 1000 houses in more than 300 towns and villages in Ambazonia. These premeditated attacks ordered by the ruthless President Paul Biya regime in Yaounde has displaced over a million people according to international humanitarian organizations. Although no one has claimed responsibilities for the bombing, a coalition of independence fighting forces known as The Contender Forces recently merged their operations promising to give ‘hell to the occupational and colonial forces from Cameroun’ as a source close to one of the groups put it.
The French Cameroun Republique government has not yet responded to the bomb blast, but the Cameroun minister in charge of defense recently visited Ambazonia where he assessed the losses that Cameroun forces were suffering in the hands of the Ambazonian independence fighting forced.
The list of the dead in this blast includes:
